The CORE Wilderness Act proposes to restrict current and future motorized access to almost 400,000 acres of Colorado public lands covering areas in the San Juan mountains, Thompson Divide, Continental Divide and Curecanti National Recreation area surrounding Blue Mesa Reservoir.
Extensive comments were submitted by Scott Jones, COHVCO Vice President and attorney.
According to Jones, OHV recreationists are urged to contact the sponsor, Sen. Bennet, to express your opposition. Although Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Rep. Scott Tipton (R-district 33) have already registered their opposition to the CORE Act, contacting Sen. Gardner asking him to hold his ground against CORE is important.
