Calling All Outdoor Enthusiasts in Colorado -- Our Trails Need Our Help!

COHVCO | Published on 7/12/2020

Colorado is known for some amazing places to spend outdoors. With all that is happening in the world, we appreciate this more than ever before. When we want to get out of the house right now, we have been encouraged to spend some time "in the Vast, Great Outdoors" and people everywhere have been doing just that.

Unfortunately, our public lands are getting littered with trash from some folks not practicing the "pack in, pack out" philosophy. With land management agencies spread thin, our trails need our help. Keeping the trails clean is one of the easiest contributions we can make toward keeping our trails open. The last thing we want is for anything else to get closed right now!

We are calling all outdoor enthusiasts (while you are out individually, or in safe, small groups) to pick up some trash this weekend, July 18th-19th, and be sure to share photos! Post photos on the COHVCO Facebook page, your feed, and any other group or page you follow.

Whether it's a large amount of trash, or even just a few small items, if we all pitch in, our trails will be cleaner, and we can also get the word out and set an example for other folks to join in!

If you find more extensive trail damage, or user created trails, please email pictures, location/GPS coordinates, and a brief description to landuse@cohvco.org.
